Wollongong City Speedway Club is the group responsible for the operation of Nowra Speedway. With more than forty years of history including operation of the former Kembla Grange circuit just south of Wollongong, the Club continues the tradition. The Club is affiliated with NASR, the ASCF/SSA and the RSA.

Membership of the Club - Membership is open to those with an interest in our sport. Membership is only $45 per year. New members pay $50. Benefits of membership include reduced pit entry. Fees are now due for 2008-09

Club Meetings - Club Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, except for November and January- second Tuesday. Meetings are held at Dapto Leagues Club from 7.30pm. The next Club meeting is Tuesday 2nd September 2008.

HAPPENINGS

Club scrutineering day will take place at Wollongong Auto Parts, 75 Princes Hwy Albion Park Rail (behind Danics BP) on Sunday 31st August 2008 from 10:00am until 3:00pm. Please make every attempt to make it to this day, even if your car is not fully completed. Remember to bring your driving gear - suit, gloves, boots, underwear, neck brace and helmet. If you are unable to be there, it is up to you to organise alternative arrangements to have you car scrutineered and a fee may be payable.

Licence, insurance and registrations - Paperwork for the new season is available. Drivers are reminded that cars need to be scrutineered and all paperwork completed before processing can take place. Don't leave it until the last minute. As we get closer to the start of the season, the turnaround to get the paperwork back will get longer.

Track improvements are about to get underway. Once maintenance is completed on the grader, more clay will be added and the surface will be ripped and re-profiled. A timing loop will also be installed. Stay tuned for dates of upcoming working bees.

Membership Fees have increased. And so have the benefits. On presentation of their membership card, our members will get discounted entry into the pits. And there is still no nomination fee to race at Nowra.

Season passes will be available for the upcoming season. Providing a considerable saving to those who are Nowra regulars. Pay for your season ticket and SAVE. Available to spectators and competitors. More details available shortly...

Practice Day - The 2008-2009 season will kick off with a Practice Day on Saturday 18th October. Entry will be through the Pit Gate only. Cost will be $20 per head. Naturally, you will need to be licensed and your race vehicle registered. While the canteen will not be open, you won't need to go hungry. A BBQ, and hot and cold drinks will be available.

Current 1600 Specs with changes for EFI cars are available online. Please note the phase out period for Jerry Cans, Fibreglass or plastic seats and Avgas has now passed. These items are no longer permitted.
